First Week in New Hampshire

Okay so I don't even know where to start right now! I am like having a million mixed emotions for so many different reasons! I want to cry, I am like way happy, and I just don't even know how to explain it to you!!This week has been so very overwhelming. Like I can't even describe it! GUESS WHAT THOUGH?!?!?! I have officially been out 2 months, in other words, 16 more to go! :)

Let's see what to tell you about the area... Um apparently I am gaining a reputation out here. Don't worry it's a good one I hear! But so pretty much I love my daughter! (That's what we call our greenies!) She pretty much is the best! I LOVE IT! She is a visa waiter and her actual call is to Argentina, so she speaks Spanish which is really good because around here... EVERY ONE IS HISPANIC OR SOMETHING! Actually in the 2nd ward there is one family, the Lopez's. Yup.. 37 members in the ward. One third of our ward is the Lopez families! Crazy huh? We do work with two sets of Elders because we are over two wards. Which is some serious crazy sauce. They are fabulous though and help us out all the time. First day story for you! We arrived, I am the designated driver, and we were supposed to go to a dinner appointment. But we got lost. and then we didn't have the address to get home. We had the wrong phone numbers for everyone. So we said a silent prayer and just waited it out. Eventually our DL called us and he asked us how our first day was gong and was able to help us get home! It was OOBER funny!

Oh by the way, I have seriously been pigging out. Like I EAT SO MUCH! Hahaha I love you!

Shot-gunning in New Hampshire

It's weird that I am e-mailing on a Wednesday, but that is just because it is transfer week. I hard core miss you, but I know this is where I am supposed to be and I remind myself of it each day. Now for my week!

So Saturday.. yeah talk about crazy! I am being transferred. I am training. I am shot-gunning an area. I am DEAD MEAT. Pretty much we received a phone call from President Packard on Saturday while out to dinner with the Elder's as a last hurrah before transfers. We missed the phone call and he just asked us to call him back. When President calls you on T-Day you know someone is getting transferred. So we called back, first off we assumed it would be Sister Preszler so I wasn't worried at all. He asked if I would be willing to train. I said "sure, I can do that." Then he asked for Sister Prezler and said the same thing. She confirmed she could do that. So we got all prepared and waited for him to tell us who was transferring, but he didn't. Say what?! Then later that night is when all the transfer text came in. Lo and behold there was my name saying S. Boldt Nashua 1/2 ward. Which really meant Sister Boldt you are going to Nashua, New Hampshire and going to be over two wards. Oh by the way there aren't sisters there so you have to start out (hence the name shot-gunning). By the way just to add to that, you get the opportunity to work with not 1 but 2 sets of Elders!

In my head I had a mental breakdown. I have been out for 6 weeks, haven't finished my training, and am supposed to train a sister AND shot-gun the area! But after a long car ride home, I was better and now I am just back to freaking out. I have never been so scared in my life and my poor Greenie is going to think she got the worst. At the same time though, I know this is where the Lord needs me at this time so with relying upon Him (which is all we have going for us) we will be able to do it. It really truly threw us for one. Like honestly threw me. I never thought I would be the one transferring. I know it will be a blessing in my life to have this experience. So I am all ready for it!! :) I said goodbye to one of the cutest families on the planet last night and they were so sad I was leaving. All the little kids were like the cutest telling me goodbye. Starting on Friday I will be in New Hampshire with a new address! Wish me luck!!

Hmm... I got my first missionary true sunburn! Yup, fired half way down my upper arm, and the shoe tan line is coming along great. All I can say is that when I get home.. I don't think I should go out into public the way I look :) Not much else happened this week, but it really was fabulous and I love it. I am sad to be leaving Westerly and going to the completely opposite end of the Mission, but hey, I would rather be there than in the Boonies. :) Best quote I heard this week from the Branch President: "Holy crap sisters; this is clear out in the boonies!" He is from Cali and anywhere with out a close society is the boonies :) It's fabulous! I love you so much and miss  you a ton!!!!! Keep filling me in! LOVE YA!!!

An Eventful Week

MONDAY: Last p-day we went crabbing. Yes, I caught crabs on the beaches in Naragansett! :) We used hot-dogs and crabs love HOT DOGS! Who knew? It was so much fun and we went with our district! If you haven't been able to tell yet, we do a lot of things with our district; mostly because we enjoy each others company. :) Then that night we went tot he Garrett's for dinner. :) They are a fabulous family and always love it when they can feed us. We shared a message about having personal peace in our lives and it was just what they needed since they just moved and things have been kinda hectic.

TUESDAY: We did a lot of service and did some drop by visits. One to Charlotte who is a 60 year old woman. Less Active. She really enjoys visits from the missionaries, but isn't interested in coming to church again. Makes it kinda difficult but every week we invite her and invite her to the activities, she has yet to show up. Then their is Hazel. Hazel we do service for every week. Usually cleaning, and she loves us.

WEDNESDAY: This was a day of interesting events. Normally we go to the Johnny Cake center but this time we went to visit Gabra. When we got there she was an emotional mess. Literally. After we had sat her down and found out what was wrong, she informed us her had been hot. She wants to go the temple, she realized how much the Lord is in her life, and she is so grateful for the grandkids she is taking care of. It was amazing. So now we are preparing her for the temple and she is going to be sealed! It is exciting. She is an amazing woman. Gabra is a native American who was taught and because a member years ago. Then she moved out here and didn't know where the church was until some missionaries arrived at her door. she says she was never more excited in her life until then. Then later on we ate dinner with Bob and Cindy. Interesting story about them. Bob and Cindy are Sister Saede's friends from Bridgeport. They own a beache house on the Misquamicut beaches. That's where we ate with them. They have been members for three years now, except that Bob is very inactive. Something happened with the church that he didn't like and hasn't had contact with the church since. You are probably thinking, well then how did we get there? Well he allowed us to come over, and then we prayed and ate. He was oober friendly and we clicked very well with him. Then before we left, he asked me to say a prayer. I offered it and afterwards he said he was so grateful and to stop by any time in the week before they leave. As we left, Sister Saede and Cindy informed us that it was truly a miracle because he hasn't allowed anyone from the church into the house, said a prayer, or even talked with anyone from church since he fell away. We were an answer to Cindy's prayers. It was awesome to recognize how the Lord works!

THURSDAY: 4th of July!!! So we didn't have any plans. The Elder's in our distract had no plans, and President Packard didn't give us a curfew. :) Therefore, we had a district 4th of July. We had District meeting starting at 10, then at two Elder Greene made us all ramen sandwiches (By the way, so unhealthy for you, yet so delicious!) Then Sister Preszler and I prepared a music number (Yes, I am playing the piano thanks to my zone leader for asking me about my musical talents...). Then we traveled up to Newport with Elder Bushnell and Elder Oaks to have a barbecue with the Newport Elders (Elder Greene and Elder Butt). We met them and had the Barbecue and then went to Fort Adams to watch the fireworks go off. Where we were sitting we could see fireworks going off across the bay to the island, plus we were watching them go off straight in front of us next to the ocean. It was totally awesome! These are some experiences that I would never give up for anything! After we had to travel home and it was so long! Sister Preszler and I didn't actually get home till 1:30 A.M. But it was still fun!

FRIDAY: We went to Zone Meeting and that was a blast as usual, then we taught John the Plan of Salvation. John is 50, and is Teddie's neighbor. He loves learning about the gospel and while we were teaching him he asked us if we were ever worried about the places we go because of the sketchiness of it all. I told him we weren't because we relied on the Holy Ghost and our Heavenly Father to guide us. He was mind blown that we would rely on such a thing.and we informed him how great of a blessing it was. Teddie then bore testimony of how it blesses her life daily and Sister Preszler did too. It was an amazing experience. Then after, we went to Teddie's to eat. It was so much fun. Josh was sick so that was unfortunate, but Ava and Theo love it when we come over. Theo is my buddy and we always giggle and laugh together. Don't worry.. he is 5. :) We are going to go to the beach with their family next week and Theo is going to show me how the pros go crabbing. :)

SATURDAY: We started out the day painting a house, that was oober fun! We do a lot of that out here actually. Then we went and pulled weeds at John's place for fun and I actually got sun burnt. :) After that we went to the Library to work on our Google Docs and everything, that was a blast. Then we went and stopped by the Abston's who insisted on feeding us dinner that night, so we were able to do that.

SUNDAY: Sunday was a day of fasting and praying. We held a special branch fast with the focus to help us grow and strengthen us. The Branch is really discouraged because there aren't very many new members (On the plus side, a family just moved in from Cedar City who are members!) We are doing our best to keep our heads high too. President West reminded us all that it does take time and that we need to realize in the future we will be able to look back and see the results. Then after church, the Wests fed us dinner and we invited them all to invite someone to the Branch part on Saturday! They are going to try~

So that has been my week and it was eventful! I am still sick unfortunately, but I am pushing through. :) I am really working hard to stay focused on all and just enjoy the work I am doing. I love you and miss ya!!! :)
